Fit practical plastering training around your schedule

Choose a five-day or ten-day option and attend the dates shown in the product options. This is for beginners and tradespeople who want hands-on skimming and boarding practice but need to spread their training across separate days.

5 days: £649 · 10 days: £1,290 · Training runs 9:00am–3:00pm · Maximum 4 learners

What you’ll practise

Each attendance day is spent in a training bay with demonstrations, practice and feedback. You’ll build from surface preparation and tool handling towards completed boarded and skimmed areas, with the pace adjusted to your experience.

  • Prepare surfaces, understand different backgrounds and mix plaster to the right consistency.
  • Measure, cut and fix plasterboard, including basic board fixing methods and edge preparation.
  • Practise hawk and trowel control, the two-coat skimming process and the timing of each stage.
  • Work on corners, beads, flattening and a clean finish.
  • Carry out basic patch repairs and correct common mistakes.

Choose the amount of practice you need

Five days gives you time to learn the process, board and skim surfaces, and repeat the core techniques with feedback. Ten days adds further supervised practice on walls, ceilings and more complete sections, so you can work on consistency, timing and confidence. The exact sequence of exercises can vary with the group.

How dates work

Choose a dated option above to reserve those specific attendance days. If you choose the undated “5 Days” or “10 Days” option, contact us before booking so we can agree dates and check availability.

What’s included

Tools and materials are provided. Wear old work clothes and work boots.

This is practical training. It is not an NVQ or a City & Guilds qualification.
